Marqués de Cáceres Brut is a unique young cava, suitable for vegans, distinguished by its freshness and fruity character. This sparkling wine is the result of a successful coupage of xarel·lo, macabeo, and parellada grape varieties, from vineyards over 25 years old in the Penedés region. Roundness and harmony intermingle with a pleasant refreshing sensation, thanks to its fine bubbles.

Marqués de Cáceres Brut is made with the three quintessential cava varieties. The qualities of the xarel·lo (50%), macabeo (30%), and parellada (20%) grapes combine to create a perfect blend. The result is a modern, easy-to-drink cava that captivates with its youth, delicate bubbles, and long finish. The grapes come from vineyards in the Penedés region, cultivated between 100 and 400 meters on clay-limestone soils. They are selected from different parcels according to the variety and hand-harvested between August 25 and September 25.
Enrique Forner founded Bodegas Marqués de Cáceres in 1970, in the town of Cenicero (Rioja Alta), after a long stay in Bordeaux, with the aim of producing high-quality Rioja wines. Today, the Forner family is responsible for the winery, and Cristina Forner (fifth generation) has been managing it since 2007. The wines of the brand reach more than 120 countries worldwide.
For the production of this sparkling wine from the D.O. Cava, the grapes are cooled to 10º C before being pressed to obtain the free-run juice. Subsequently, the alcoholic fermentation of the musts is carried out separately, at a controlled temperature, for 15 days. Once the base wine blend is defined, the wine is bottled with the traditional tirage liqueur. After the second fermentation, in an underground cellar, the cava ages in the bottle on its lees for a minimum of 11 months, achieving a perfect balance between the fruity character and the perfect integration of the carbon dioxide.
Served at around 6º C, Marqués de Cáceres Brut pairs perfectly with all kinds of appetizers, cooked seafood, fish, and seafood rice dishes.
In appearance, the cava Marqués de Cáceres brut exhibits a pale yellow color and a good release of small bubbles that end in a rosary. On the nose, it displays pastry aromas with hints of apple and white flowers. On the palate, it is round, harmonious, and dry, with a good length enhanced by its fine bubbles.
The origins of Marqués de Cáceres date back to the late 1960s, when the Valencian Enrique Forner decided to apply in Rioja the winemaking knowledge he had acquired in Bordeaux during his time at Château Camensac. To carry out his project, Forner sought the advice of the renowned oenologist Émile Peynaud.
The first measure taken by the Valencian was to convince the local grape growers from whom he purchased grapes that he only wanted healthy and ripe fruit. He then built a winery equipped with the most modern technology and revolutionized Rioja's winemaking tradition by implementing shorter aging periods than usual, using French oak barrels. Enrique Forner passed away in 2011, but today it is his daughter Cristina who, accompanied by a select group of professionals, keeps one of Spain's most prestigious Rioja wineries at the top.
In 2014, Marqués de Cáceres expanded its operations to the D.O. Rueda, acquiring 125 hectares of vineyards in La Seca and Serrada, planted with the verdejo and sauvignon blanc varieties. They also built a winery there. In 2019, they extended their reach to the D.O. Ribera del Duero, where they own the Finca La Capilla winery.
