The Montserrat mountain protects the vineyards that nourish the red wine L’Equilibrista 2018 from the cold northern winds, allowing them to enjoy a mild and temperate Mediterranean climate most of the time. Cultivated on alluvial soils at more than 165 meters above sea level, the Garnacha, Syrah, and Cariñena vines, aged between 18 and 40 years, found in this enclave the ideal conditions to offer all their typicity.
After the manual harvest of each varietal at its optimal time, in the winery, the grapes were selected and partially destemmed by hand. Fermentation, with native yeasts, took place in stainless steel tanks of 100 to 200 hectoliters at a controlled temperature (21-28 °C) with daily pump-overs. Subsequently, the vat was racked, and spontaneous malolactic fermentation began. The wine aged for 14 months in 225 and 500-liter barrels of French Allier and American oak from different coopers. The result is a red wine of formidable freshness that has convinced specialized critics.
Ca N’Estruc is a Catalan family winery that represents the origins of the D.O. Catalunya. The firm is located on an estate dating back to 1574, situated on the slopes of the Montserrat mountain, in the Barcelona town of Esparreguera. Currently, the winery is managed by Francisco Martí, with the help of his daughter Anna. Together, they produce quality wines practicing organic viticulture and, in recent years, following the principles of biodynamics.
With a limited production of 39,200 bottles, L’Equilibrista 2018 is a red that pairs perfectly with grilled meats, legumes, and spring and autumn mushrooms.

L'Equilibrista has a beautiful and bright garnet color with ruby highlights. On the nose, it is gentle and seductive, with plenty of red and black fruit, reminiscent of currants, cherries, and plums. As it oxygenates, notes of tobacco, black pepper, and flowers like violets appear, along with very light lactic touches, forming a very seductive and pleasant ensemble. On the palate, it is round, fluid, and voluminous. It has a structure formed by very gentle tannins, without edges and with a formidable freshness that accompanies it from start to finish. A red wine with good aging potential.
