General Information
Since 2017, the Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE) has fulfilled the desire to honor the founders of the winery established in 1879 by inaugurating Bodega Bela in one of the most sought-after areas of the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin, in what is considered the golden mile of the production zone.
This winemaking house, far from its native Rioja, begins with a superb viticultural heritage of 82 hectares of vineyards, mostly of the tinta del país or tempranillo variety, spread across the municipalities of Villalba de Duero and Moradillo de Roa. Two very distinct areas that contribute complementary attributes to the wines – more structure in Moradillo de Roa and more freshness in Villalba de Duero. A project that has been shaped over more than a decade of acquiring these coveted vineyards.
In its magnificent facilities, Heredad Arano 2020 is produced, the red wine we propose, born from a harvest classified as Excellent by the Ribera del Duero regulatory council. A wine made from selected tempranillo vineyards, cultivated in five plots located in Moradillo de Roa.
Tasting notes
It displays a beautiful ripe cherry red color with an intense garnet rim, very high layer, and luminous.
On the nose, it is very complex and fragrant. At the forefront, ripe black fruit notes stand out, followed by aromas of Mediterranean scrubland (rosemary and thyme). Later, fine balsamic echoes appear, blending with hints of licorice and clear touches of dark chocolate.
On the palate, it is deep, fleshy, and with a great profile of ripe fruit. Throughout its gustatory journey, its good structure, support, and power stand out. A wine where power and elegance are balanced to result in a magnificent red. Great gustatory development, highlighting the ripeness of black fruits and the balsamic tone. Long and complex retro-nasal passage, with intense spicy and dark chocolate notes.

Con Heredad Arano 2020 queremos interpretar el viñedo de Moradillo de Roa de la Ribera del Duero. Se tratan de viñedos propios, con más de 20 años, localizados a 1000 m de altitud en suelos pedregosos, con un clima continental. Aquí buscamos la elegancia y finura en los vinos, de ahí que el nombre sea el apellido materno.

This winemaking house, far from its native Rioja, began with an exceptional viticultural heritage of 82 hectares of vineyards, mostly of the tinta del país or tempranillo variety, spread across the Villalba de Duero and Moradillo de Roa regions. Two very distinct areas that contribute complementary attributes to the wines: more structure in Moradillo de Roa and more freshness in Villalba de Duero. A venture that was forged after more than a decade of acquiring these coveted vineyards.
Bela was the affectionate nickname given to Sofía, the daughter of CVNE co-founder Eusebio Real de Asúa, and the great-grandmother of the current leaders of the company. It is a cutting-edge winery with a surface area of 6,000 m² and a large barrel room with a capacity for 10,000 casks.
In 2024, it became one of the highlights of the Spanish wine world when the prestigious publication Wine Spectator selected Bela Crianza 2021 as the only Ribera del Duero wine in its Top 100.
In recent years, Bodega Bela has embarked on its adventure in the neighboring D.O. Rueda, where it is producing verdejo whites that are sure to make waves.
