La Galaxia 2023 comes from the vineyards of Quinta da Pellada, within which are the vines of Dâo. These lands are located in a mountainous area of the Sierra de Estrela, which helps protect the vines from the winds of the Atlantic Ocean. These vineyards, aged between 30 and 65 years and situated at over 550 meters of altitude, are found on granite soils, lines of sand, and clay. All these conditions make La Galaxia 2019 a different, fresh, and mineral wine.
Fento Wines, created in 2012, is a project of wines crafted by the winemaker and viticulturist Eulogio Pomares, from harvests of some viticulturists from places like Condado de do Tea, Dâo, and Alentejo. The philosophy embodied in this project ensures that the character of the grape and its different nuances are manifested in these wines. Additionally, its production process stands out, involving the mobility of the grape from the vineyard to Galicia. This is the experimental philosophy that the winery follows.
In the vinification, the grapes are harvested manually and after destemming, they are pressed. As for fermentation and aging, they are carried out in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. In conclusion, La Galaxia 2023 is a wine with a unique freshness and minerality that transports you to the D.O. Dâo, the place where its grapes are born.
