With La Forcallà de Antonia 2022, Rafael Cambra wanted to pay tribute to the viticulturist who owns the plot, a 100% forcallat wine that surprises with its Atlantic character. The Valencian producer revives the almost extinct red variety that was cultivated in the western part of the D.O. Valencia and gives it a twist, achieving an innovative red that captivates with its acidic red fruit on the nose and a fresh and silky palate.

General Information
To produce La Forcallà de Antonia 2022, Rafael Cambra revives the forcallat, a practically forgotten native Valencian grape. An artisanal wine from a plot populated with vines over 50 years old, cultivated under the principles of organic farming, on the terraces of Fontanars dels Alforins, at 700 meters altitude.
The winery Rafael Cambra is the result of the homonymous producer's commitment from Valencia to promote old vineyards with great potential found in Fontanars dels Alforins. The winery practices organic farming on its 42 hectares (12 owned and 30 leased) where it produces high-quality wines with native varieties like monastrell, arco, and forcallà; and foreign ones like cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc.
With a non-interventionist policy, this red wine from the D.O. Valencia stands out for a vinification process where the must was fermented with native yeasts in 2000-liter stainless steel tanks with 20% whole clusters and light pump-overs. This was followed by aging for 6 months in 500-liter French oak barrels and another 6 months in wooden vats. The result is La Forcallà de Antonia 2022, a Valencian red that pairs especially well with blue fish and Asian cuisine.
Tasting notes
On the nose, La Forcallà de Antonia unfolds aromas of tart red fruit and forest fruits, along with a certain lacteous touch.
On the palate, it is very fresh, with tension and a pleasant balsamic touch.
