Finca Valdelagua 2019 represents the finest from Bodegas y Viñedos Casa del Valle (Grupo Bodegas Olarra). It comes from a selection of the best grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot from Finca Valdelagua and has been aged for 12 months in barrels.

Finca Valdelagua 2019 results from a selection of the finest bunches of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot grown at Finca Valdelagua, in Yepes (Toledo), the home of Bodegas y Viñedos Casa del Valle. The vineyards are harvested in the coolest hours of the day. Fermentation controlled at 25-28°C, maceration of 16 days and maturation in new oak barrels for 12 months.

The expansive vocation of the Grupo Bodegas Olarra led them to initiate a new project in the Mancha region. Thus was born Bodegas y Viñedos Casa del Valle in the year 2000, backed by three decades of experience producing wines in Rioja. After an exhaustive search for the ideal location, the Grupo Olarra acquired the Valdelagua estate, which today houses Casa del Valle’s facilities and vineyard, in the image of the ‘châteaux’.

The new owners undertook a complete remodel of the old winery and a restructuring of the vineyard. Currently, Casa del Valle has 82 hectares of new vines, where international varieties predominate.

The winery

Bodegas y Viñedos Casa del Valle

Under the heading Grupo Bodegas Olarra, three wineries are grouped: Olarra, Ondarre, and Casa del Valle, the latter being the most recent addition and the only one not located in Rioja, but in the lands of Castilla-La Mancha. Its journey began in the year 2000, after the acquisition of La Finca Valdelagua, where there was already an old winery that would be completely renovated. Today, the facilities boast the most advanced technology and a semi-underground aging cellar, and they are surrounded by 82 hectares of vineyards. Using only the fruits from these own vines, Casa del Valle produces wines that adhere to the philosophy of estate wines.
