Bodegas Cyan is located on the road connecting Toro with Venialbo, just past the municipality of Valdefinjas, and consists of three perfectly functional warehouses for wine production since 1999.
One of the most personal initiatives of Carlos Moro, featuring 53 hectares of Tinta de Toro vineyards, most of them old, like those that supply the wine we present to you: Cyan Prestigio 2018, one of the top red wines from Bodegas Cyan.
Cyan Prestigio 2018 is a red wine made from old vineyards (over 60 years old) of the Tinta de Toro variety located on the La Calera estate, on sandy and arid soils, in the westernmost part of the Denominación de Origen Toro. A wine with the hallmark of the renowned Bodegas Familiares Matarromera group that pairs well with cheeses and cured meats, meat stews, roasts, lamb, and Iberian products.
The entrepreneur Carlos Moro founded Matarromera (D.O. Ribera del Duero) in 1988, a winery that achieved resounding success. Following this, the formation and expansion of the Matarromera Group began, which today is one of the most important wine empires in the country. Bodega Cyan (D.O. Toro) has been part of its successful portfolio of wineries since 1999.
Cyan drives the renewal and the great qualitative leap of the wines from D.O. Toro. A winery committed to making the most of some of the best vineyards of the native Tinta de Toro grape. It has 53 hectares of vineyards cultivated along the axis of the Valdefinjas valley, in one of the most coveted areas of the region, boasting a high percentage of old vines, the most valuable ones.
Following the model of the prestigious reds from Matarromera, Bodegas Cyan began a renewal in the style of its wines in 2010. A fresh approach to achieve more harmonious and balanced reds, with less presence of oak and greater elegance, focusing on meticulous vineyard care, precision winemaking, and aging in the finest barrels. We explore some of the best wines from the winery and complete the offering with two extra virgin olive oils produced in the group’s mill.
