Following the success of the 2019 and 2020 Crianzas, we’re now offering you the latest version of this marvellous red made by CVNE in Ribera del Duero through its winery Bodega Bela. Oh, and the 2021 vintage has again been rated Excellent in this Denominación. Cune Crianza 2021 was grown on vineyards located in the municipalities of Villalba de Duero and Moradillo de Roa in Burgos, different areas that lend the wine complementary attributes: Moradillo de Roa more structure and Villalba de Duero greater freshness. The result is superb. And you’ll only find it here, because it’s been made exclusively for us.

Two years after introducing the first Cune Crianza to be made in the D.O. Ribera Duero, which was a major hit with our members, it’s now the turn of the second vintage made exclusively for us: Cune Crianza 2021, an elegant Tempranillo from an Excellent-rated vintage.
Some years ago, CVNE began searching for high-quality wineries outside the D.O.Ca. Rioja. En 2017, it came across initiatives that are now a reality in Valdeorras and Cava. Not long afterwards, in 2019, the project in the D.O Ribera del Duero took shape with the name de Bodegas Bela. This new firm’s main asset is its 82 hectares of vineyards, mostly planted with the Tinta del País or Tempranillo variety, located in the municipalities of Villalba de Duero and Moradillo de Roa (Burgos)
This is the third time Vinoselección has had the privilege of offering this wine to our members exclusively, and we didn’t want to wait any longer because this third vintage has also been rated Excellent in the D.O. Ribera del Duero.
The red Cune Crianza 2021 (D.O. Ribera del Duero) is perfect with beef Carpaccio or medallions of Ibérico pork in a mustard sauce.

Con este vino queremos reflejar la Ribera del Duero burgalesa, donde la variedad más importante es la tempranillo, conocida en la zona como tinta del país. Se elabora con uva nuestros viñedos situados alrededor de nuestra bodega en Villalba de Duero, a más de 800 m de altitud, cultivados sobre suelos franco-arenosos. Con este Cune Crianza 2020 queremos expresar el carácter de la Ribera de Duero, donde la uva es el principal protagonista.
The winery
In 2017, the Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE) fulfilled the desire to honor the founders of the winery from 1879 by launching the Bodega Bela project in one of the most sought-after areas of the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin. This winemaking house, far from its native Rioja, began with an exceptional viticultural heritage of 82 hectares of vineyards, mostly of the tinta del país or tempranillo variety, spread across the Villalba de Duero and Moradillo de Roa regions. Two very distinct areas that contribute complementary attributes to the wines: more structure in Moradillo de Roa and more freshness in Villalba de Duero. A venture that was forged after more than a decade of acquiring these coveted vineyards.
Bela was the affectionate nickname given to Sofía, the daughter of CVNE co-founder Eusebio Real de Asúa, and the great-grandmother of the current leaders of the company. It is a cutting-edge winery with a surface area of 6,000 m² and a large barrel room with a capacity for 10,000 casks.
In 2024, it became one of the highlights of the Spanish wine world when the prestigious publication Wine Spectator selected Bela Crianza 2021 as the only Ribera del Duero wine in its Top 100.
In recent years, Bodega Bela has embarked on its adventure in the neighboring D.O. Rueda, where it is producing verdejo whites that are sure to make waves.
