General Information

The white wine CM Viña Tenencia 2021 comes from vineyards located in the Miño river valley, in the municipality of Vide (Ourense). There, the treixadura, albariño, and godello vines, over 30 years old, are carefully cultivated, forming the blend of this Galician white wine.

For the production of CM Viña Tenencia (D.O. Ribeiro), the traditional winemaking method has been followed, with a prior selection of clusters from the three varieties that create it. A measured coupage dominated by the treixadura variety, complemented with albariño and godello, along with aging on lees, provide this wine with a unique character and balance, resulting in a fresh, unctuous, and pleasant white wine. A terroir wine that pairs perfectly with local dishes such as Galician octopus, scallops, seafood, cheeses, and all kinds of fish.

CM Viña Tenencia 2021 is part of the Vinos de Finca project by CM, initiated a few years ago by winemaker Carlos Moro. Wines from very specific plots with very limited productions that give them an exclusive character, for collectors.

Tasting notes

Beautiful pale straw yellow color with greenish touches. Clean and bright to the eye.

Intense on the nose, dominated by aromas of stone fruit and green apple with hints of freshly cut hay and white flowers. Fresh and elegant.

On the palate, it is a structured and unctuous wine thanks to its fine lees, which give it a persistent and very pleasant finish.

The winery

Bodega CM de Matarromera
Founded in 2014 in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Bodega CM de Matarromera (D.O.Ca. Rioja) is another remarkable project by the renowned Castilian-Leonese winemaker Carlos Moro, owner of Bodegas Familiares Matarromera. This venture was born from Carlos Moro's desire to expand Bodegas Familiares Matarromera and become part of a denomination of origin as prestigious and iconic as Rioja (prior to the creation of Bodega CM de Matarromera, Bodegas Familiares Matarromera included only wineries within the denominations of origin influenced by the Duero River).

A business project aimed at producing high-end wines and sharing the philosophy upon which Bodegas Familiares Matarromera is founded: innovation, respect for sustainability and the environment, and the pursuit of the highest quality. Bodega CM de Matarromera owns 30 hectares of its own vineyards distributed across various plots located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Labastida, as well as 60 controlled hectares situated in these towns and Ábalos.

The winery's facilities feature an impressive 300-meter-long underground cellar that houses 2,000 American and French oak barrels. Currently, Bodega CM de Matarromera produces the brands CM and Oinoz (D.O.Ca. Rioja). Additionally, this initiative also includes other select estate wines from symbolic vineyards in other denominations of origin, such as Toro, Rueda, Ribera del Duero, and Cigales.
