After succeeding in Ribera del Duero with Dominio de Pingus, Château Rocheyron 2018 is the magnificent result of Danish winemaker Peter Sisseck's rediscovery of the great wines and terroir of Bordeaux.
Made from merlot and cabernet franc grapes, sourced from vines over 45 years old planted on a limestone plateau just over three and a half kilometers from the center of Saint-Émilion, this exceptional red marks Sisseck's debut at Château Rocheyron, a winery acquired in 2010 together with his friend Silvio Denz, owner of Art and Fragrance and Lalique.
Château Rocheyron 2018, Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilion, stands out for its silky and elegant tannins, great aromatic intensity, good acidity, and balance. All these qualities are perfected after 14 months of aging in oak barrels. Enjoy it with aged cheeses, game dishes, roasts, and red meats.
In appearance, it shows a medium-high layer cherry red color.
On the nose, it offers aromas of black fruit, blackcurrants, and plum, followed by pleasant mineral notes (chalk).
Well-structured, with a balanced palate where silky tannins stand out, very well integrated. Mineral, defined, and with a very elegant finish.
