Borsao Shiraz Vendimia Seleccionada 2021 takes us to the landscape of the D.O. Campo de Borja (Zaragoza), a land with a long-standing viticultural tradition, where Borsao is the driving force of the denomination. A leading name in Aragon and internationally recognised, the winery presents us with a wine produced exclusively for Vinoselección. A red that originates from a vintage rated Excellent and from the best Syrah vineyards that this winery owns.
The Syrah grape represents 17% of Borsao's vineyards and in this wine it adopts the name by which it is known in New World countries: Shiraz. The wine completes its character with a 10-month ageing in American oak barrels.
Considered the flagship reference of the D.O. Campo de Borja, the winery traces its origins to 1958, when it was born as a cooperative in the municipality of Borja. In 2001 it joined other cooperatives in the area to form the current Bodegas Borsao. Today it totals no less than 2,260 hectares of vineyard, contributed by 365 families of viticulturists, an extraordinary heritage that stretches at the foot of Moncayo. Borsao's wines enjoy international recognition. Proof of this is that in 2020 its emblematic Tres Picos occupied position 28 in the prestigious Top 100 Wines ranking by Wine Spectator.

Pairing
Borsao Shiraz Vendimia Seleccionada 2021 pairs with dishes that are tasty and full of character, where its ripe fruit profile and its time in oak can shine naturally. It pairs especially well with roast lamb, pork chops, grilled ribeye, or beef cheeks, and it also goes very well with meat stews, duck breast, and aged cheeses.
Made from selected grapes from the winery's best Syrah plots. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 10 months in American oak barrels, which softens the tannins and adds aromatic depth without overshadowing the fruit.
Tasting notes

Intense ruby red colour, with excellent depth.
Nose
On the nose it presents as complex, intense, with mineral aromas alongside memories of black fruit that give way to roasted, smoky notes and hints of Juanola. Very expressive.
Mouth
With excellent balance on the palate, savoury and fresh, with a well-integrated noble tannin and a long, persistent finish that shows balsamic notes, toasted hints and fine wood.
Borsao is the driving force behind the Campo de Borja D.O. (Zaragoza). It was founded in 1958 as a cooperative in the Borja area. In 2001, it merged with other local cooperatives to form the current Borsao. Today, the company manages an impressive 2,260 hectares of vineyards, contributed by 365 winegrowing families. This extraordinary viticultural heritage ensures access to high-quality raw material for every vintage.
The vineyards are located in the vicinity of Mount Moncayo, a terroir characterized by a combination of cold, windy winters and warm, Mediterranean-style summers. This contrast fosters slow, balanced grape ripening.
A champion of the Garnacha variety, the winery also cultivates other grapes and strives to produce wines with distinct character and consistent quality—factors that have made it one of Spain’s most renowned wine brands. Today, its wines are available in over 60 countries and have garnered top-tier international acclaim. A notable example is the inclusion of *Tres Picos* at number 28 on Wine Spectator’s prestigious "Top 100 Wines" list.
The winery’s philosophy centers on preserving the authenticity of the fruit, prioritizing winemaking processes that respect it to the fullest—such as temperature-controlled fermentation and the moderate use of oak to enhance, rather than mask, the grape's character. The result is a range of wines that are ripe, smooth, and rounded; wines with weight on the palate and solid structure, yet, above all, balance.
