General Information

Intense nose of dried fruits and a creamy, robust palate, the palomino fino unveils the essence in Alfonso Oloroso Seco, a magnificent sherry with the unmistakable seal of González Byass.

Due to its quality and meticulous production, this creation from the powerful Andalusian winery, which boasts a minimum aging of 8 years in American oak barrels following the traditional solera system, is absolutely essential for lovers of the oenological gems of the south. Perfect for pairing with red meats and game, mushrooms, and very aged cheeses.

Tasting notes

To the eye, it is amber-gold in color.

Intense nose with warm and rounded aromas of shell fruits (walnut), toasted notes, vegetal, balsamic (noble wood and dry leaf litter), and spices (truffle and leather).

On the palate, it is flavorful and structured, with sensations of varietal nuts and a touch of vanilla from its aging in American oak. Persistent and complex in the retronasal phase.

The winery

González Byass

In 1835, the entrepreneur Manuel María González Angel arrived in Jerez with the intention of doing business with the growing demand for Sherry from England. He acquired a small winery that, by 1955, was overwhelmed by its success. Manuel María González partnered with his agent in England, Mr. Robert Blake Byass, thus founding the company González-Byassz. Today, it is the fifth generation of the González family who lead this family heritage business.

Currently, the González Byass group is made up of a wide range of wineries producing in the most emblematic and important denominations of origin in Spain (with Beronia in the D.O.Ca. Rioja; Viñas del Vero in the D.O. Somontano; Vilarnau in Catalonia; Finca Constancia in Toledo, Finca Moncloa in Cádiz, Pazos de Lusco in the D.O. Rías Baixas, and the Tío Pepe winery in Jerez).Among the products offered by the group, the emblematic wines of Jerez, their cavas, brandies, anises, liqueurs, gin, oils, vinegars, spirits, among others, stand out.
