Traslanzas Bodegas y Viñedos

Traslanzas Bodegas y Viñedos

In the late 1990s, María Pinacho -a third-generation winemaker from Mucientes (Valladolid)- and her husband, winegrower Carlos González, marked a turning point for the Cigales D.O. The first vintage of Traslanzas, released in 2000, surprised the market by being a red wine from a region traditionally associated with ‘clarete’ (a style of rosé). Deeply rooted in its terroir, it is widely considered the first modern-style red wine produced in Cigales and the wine that inspired several subsequent projects. In a very short time, Traslanzas established itself among the most distinguished red wines of Castile and León.

The winery’s philosophy is grounded in the expression of the vineyard and its surroundings. They work exclusively with the 25 hectares of the Traslanzas estate, situated at an altitude of approximately 800 meters and planted with Tempranillo vines on Miocene-era soils rich in stones, limestone, and clay. This unique site yields wines that are profound and intense, with remarkable aging potential. Their portfolio includes both red and rosé wines.
