Torre Penelas

Torre Penelas

Torre Penelas is the winemaking project of the Familia Torres in Rías Baixas. Originally from Penedès, the Torres family ventured into the region in 2012, when they launched the first vintage of Pazo das Bruxas. Named Torre Penelas and led by winemaker Víctor Cortizo, the project now includes two wineries in the Salnés Valley and about 20 hectares of albariño vineyards owned by the family.

The Pazo Torre Penelas, dating back to the 14th or 15th century and located in the municipality of Portas (Pontevedra), is focused on producing unique wines in innovative Galician granite ovoid tanks, which showcase the most honest expression of the six-hectare walled vineyard that is part of the estate. The Torres family acquired the pazo in 2017 and installed a small winery under the tower to produce Blanco Granito, the first wine to be vinified and aged in granite. 2018 is the first vintage.

The Adega Torre Penelas, located in Meaño, a short distance from the pazo, was incorporated into the project starting with the 2022 harvest. Built in 1990 and renovated in 2022, the winery has a surface area of 3000 m2 and is dedicated to producing Pazo das Bruxas.
