Domaine Thunevin-Calvet

Jean-Luc Thunevin was one of the great protagonists of French wine during the turn of the millennium. In the mid-90s, the American guru Robert Parker put him in the spotlight by labeling him as the enfant terrible of Bordeaux wine, subsequently scoring his Château Valandraud above legends like Pétrus. A few years later, in 2000, a trip to Roussillon changed his life forever. The love affair with this southeastern French region led him to acquire some hectares of vineyard alongside local producer Jean Roger Calvet and to found Domaine Thunevin-Calvet. Domaine Thunevin-Calvet is located in Maury, on black schist terrain, and its first vintage was produced in 2001.
