Domaine Ao Yun

Domaine Ao Yun

Ao Yun, which can be translated as "a walk in the clouds," is a Chinese winery whose journey began in 2008 under the auspices of the LVMH Wine & Spirits group (a luxury product chain that owns wines such as Cheval Blanc, Chateau d’Yquem, Möet Chandon, and Dom Perignon, among others) and the Australian winemaker Tony Jordan.

Their goal was to explore new frontiers to produce world-class wines in enigmatic China. They combed the vast Asian country until they found the ideal location with a formidable terroir. The Yunnan region, located in the Himalayas, at the foot of the Meili mountain, with two villages on either side of the Mekong River at different altitudes. Here lie the 27.7 hectares of vineyards cultivated on different soil types, sun exposure, and microclimates where Domaine Ao Yun develops its thriving winemaking project, which has already managed to establish itself in the sector thanks to the impressive scores achieved by its red wine Ao Yun.
