Burgo Viejo

Burgo Viejo was founded in 1987 through the union of five families of winegrowers from Alfaro, who came together to highlight the distinctive character of their grapes through selective and controlled vinification. To achieve this, the winery uses only the vineyards owned by the families, covering more than 200 hectares, and purchases only highly selected batches from a few local winegrowers. With this raw material, it produces wines that reflect the unique character of the Alfaro ‘terroir’.

A curious and innovative brand. Its wide range of wines includes experimental productions of small batches, single-varietal wines, aging in 500-liter barrels, amphorae, etc. It also focuses on organic production and is preparing for the imminent launch of its ‘viñedos singulares’ wines, included in this top category of the D.O.Ca. Rioja.
