Bodegas Pago de los Capellanes

Bodegas Pago de los Capellanes

Pago de los Capellanes is a family-owned winery located in the heart of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. A small vineyard of the native tempranillo variety was the beginning of a dream that the restless minds of Paco Rodero and Conchita Villa turned into reality by founding the winery in 1996 in a unique setting among vineyards and century-old walnut trees. Paco, along with his father Doroteo, cared for this family vineyard, a plot that once belonged to the chaplains of the village.

The love for the land is the driving force behind a constantly evolving project. Their different vineyards on diverse soils, along with the climate and conditions of this privileged wine-growing area, allow them to create artisanal wines based on the deepest respect for the land and traditional viticulture. Pago de los Capellanes strives for the maximum expressiveness of the fruit, intensity of flavor, and enveloping smoothness. Each of their award-winning wines is a reflection of their terroir.

In the mid-1990s, the couple formed by Paco Rodero and Conchita Villa, owners of several hectares of vineyards near Pedrosa de Duero, decided to build a winery to vinify the fruit of their vines. This is how Pago de los Capellanes was born, a benchmark for Ribera del Duero and Spanish wine, now celebrating 27 years of history.

The founders' daughter, Estefanía Rodero, joined the family business in 2015, and today she represents the new generation leading the winery after the passing of Paco Rodero in 2023.
