Montilla-Moriles

The D.O. extends to the south of the province of Córdoba.

Climate
Semi-continental Mediterranean climate, with warm, long, and dry summers and short winters.
Soil
The soils are of a loamy-sandy nature in the lower areas and calcareous (“albarizas”) in the higher zones, these being of the highest quality and located in the so-called high subzone (which includes the municipalities of Montilla, Moriles, Castro del Río, Cabra, and Aguilar de la Frontera, and represents barely around 2,000 hectares of the terroir).
