Barbanza e Iria

The protected geographical indication Barbanza e Iria designates the wines of the land produced in the area of the banks of the Arosa estuary, specifically in the municipalities of Boiro, Catoira, Dodro, A Pobra do Caramiñal, Pontecesures, Rianxo, Ribeira, and Valga, and in the parishes of Camboño, Fruíme, Tállara, Iria Flavia, Padrón, Baroña, Caamaño, Queiruga, Ribasieira, San Pedro de Muro, and Xuño, in the provinces of A Coruña and Pontevedra.
Climate
Oceanic with mild temperatures (between 8 and 15 ºC in winter and 15 to 24 ºC in summer), and with rainfall ranging between 1,200 and 1,400 mm.
Soil
They are sandy-loam, moderately acidic, permeable, with low water retention capacity and rich in organic matter.
