Its clusters are large and compact, pyramidal. The grapes are medium-sized and spherical, with a yellow-green color. It can achieve a good alcoholic strength. Its wines are delicate, pale yellow with greenish tones, low acidity, and neutral aromas (vegetal, hay or grass, and overripe fruit), which is why it is often blended with varieties of greater aromatic potential (along with Xarel.lo and Parellada, it forms the base of cava). In La Rioja, wines made from this variety are often barrel-fermented. The whites are slightly acidic and suitable for early consumption.
