The clusters are small and very compact, with small, spherical grapes of an intense blackish-blue color. It allows for long macerations, producing complex wines with mineral and balsamic aromas, low alcohol content, and low acidity (the geographical indication Vino de la Tierra de Cangas emphasizes these two aspects to determine quality). The malolactic fermentation will soften its malic acidity and allow the wines to age in oak barrels, enhancing their longevity.
