Established in the heart of the D.O.C. Dão, Ares do Dão – Soc. Vitivinícola, Lda is a winery integrated into the Lusovini group, highly renowned in Portugal, striving to produce wines that embody the full character of one of the most prestigious demarcated regions of the neighboring country.
The winemaking is led by Sónia Martins, one of the most influential and recognized winemakers in the neighboring country, who presents us with the white wine Flor de Nelas Terras de Senhorim Encruzado 2017. A wine with a production of only 2,500 bottles, it stands as one of the finest examples of the native Encruzado variety, and is currently at an ideal stage for consumption thanks to the potential of the Encruzado grape.
For its production, the Encruzado grapes from old vineyards were harvested manually and taken to the winery, where a long alcoholic fermentation of 45 days took place in a combination of stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels. Subsequently, the different batches underwent 4 months of aging in oak barrels before being bottled and further refined in the bottle.

It presents a beautiful lemon-yellow color with golden reflections, very bright.
On the nose, it shows complexity, intensity, and elegance. Initially, notes of ripe tropical fruits (pineapple and mango) appear, along with interesting hints of citrus and sage.
On the palate, the elegance perceived on the nose stands out, with a sense of volume and, at the same time, well-integrated acidity that brings liveliness. Very persistent, leaving pleasant notes of citrus peel.
