Pfalz

Pfalz (Rhenish Palatinate) is known as "the German Tuscany" and represents one of the most important appellation regions in Germany. It is also the largest wine-producing area in the country, accounting for a quarter of its total vineyard surface. The origins of its winemaking tradition date back to the Romans.

Climate
The Palatinate benefits from a particularly mild climate. In some years, more than 2,000 hours of annual sunlight have been recorded. It is the sunniest, warmest, and driest of the German wine regions, with an average temperature of 11º C.
Soil
The composition of the soils is very varied. Although marl (sedimentary rock) predominates, it is often mixed with other types of soil, such as chalk, clay, or sandstone, among others.
