Located in the southern part of the Rhône, the A.O.C. Gigondas has 1,225 hectares of vineyards under its designation, being recognized as an appellation of origin since 1971. Due to the climatic characteristics of the area, this region produces red wines with high alcohol content but with a wide range of elegant aromas.
Mild Mediterranean, marked by the influence of the Mistral wind. The rainfall regime in the area is low, around 550 mm annually.
Variable, though dominated by clay components and extremely stony.
