In the heart of the Ribera del Duero, where the clay-limestone land and silty soils hold the memory of generations, emerges a wine that captures the authenticity of a vineyard cultivated with almost obsessive precision. Handcrafted, cluster by cluster, Vizcarra Selección de Fincas 2024 reflects the philosophy of a winery that has elevated microvinification to an art form. A wine that invites you to pause, discover nuances, and enjoy the deepest character of Tinto Fino.

Vizcarra Selección de Fincas 2024 is born from meticulous work in vineyards around 30 years old and a completely manual winemaking process, following the same philosophy that the winery applied in its renowned 2016 vintage. It comes from loamy, clay-limestone soils with the presence of gravel, which provides depth and a precise varietal expression. Its aging – around 30% American oak and 70% French oak – rounds out a wine that combines character, finesse, and a strong identity marked by the terroir.

Bodegas Vizcarra was founded in 1991 by Juan Carlos Vizcarra to continue his father's legacy and today is one of the most respected and sought-after wineries in Ribera del Duero. With 55 hectares spread between Mambrilla de Castrejón and Roa de Duero, it works with respectful viticulture and gravity-fed winemaking that avoids the use of pumps. Its micro-vinifications by parcel have made Vizcarra an absolute benchmark, with wines that regularly receive high scores from critics like Robert Parker and that have helped establish the winery as one of the driving forces of the denomination of origin.

In the glass, Vizcarra Selección de Fincas 2024 showcases the nobility of Tinto Fino: ripe black fruit, plum notes, and subtle spicy hints, all wrapped in perfectly integrated oak. On the palate, it is broad, balanced, and features a silky texture that reflects the quality of the vineyard and the precision of the winemaking. Its finish is long, with mineral notes and a freshness that invites you to keep drinking.

In summary, Vizcarra Selección de Fincas 2024 is a red wine that combines craftsmanship, tradition, and a modern interpretation of the Duero. Ideal for pairing with roasted lamb, red meats, Iberian cured meats, or slow-cooked stews. Its prestige is backed by the trajectory of the winery and the excellent ratings its wines receive year after year. A must-have for those seeking authenticity and greatness in every glass.

The winery

Bodegas Vizcarra
In the line of small and prestigious wineries that carry on the heritage of the first winemakers of Ribera del Duero, we find renowned names such as Viña Sastre and others perhaps less known but equally praised by international critics, like Vizcarra. A selective winery with very well-positioned wines. The history of Bodegas Vizcarra began in 1991 under the guidance of Juan Carlos Vizcarra, its current owner and winemaker. His father, José Manuel Vizcarra, was one of the pioneers in cultivating vineyards in Ribera during the 1980s.

Convinced of the value of these vineyards, Juan Carlos began winemaking in 1991 in rudimentary facilities, producing family-tradition wines that have been refined over time to compete in the high-end market. His outstanding work in the field stands out, where he applies traditional and perfectionist viticulture. He owns 50 hectares of vineyards in the areas of Mambrilla de Castrejón and Roa de Duero (Burgos), in the heart of Ribera del Duero, cultivated with the denomination's flagship variety, tinto fino (tempranillo), along with a small proportion of international grapes.

In 2007, Vizcarra inaugurated new facilities, where all winemaking processes are carried out by gravity, thus achieving honest and concentrated wines.
