El Vínculo Reserva 2021
The ‘brother’ of Tinto Pesquera in La Mancha
The best wines of La Mancha are produced at the Fernández Rivera family's winery in Ciudad Real. Some people call El Vínculo’s wines ‘the La Mancha version of Pesquera’. And no wonder, because this label has positioned itself among the elite thanks, among other things, to the exceptional raw material provided by the old dry-farmed vines. El Vínculo Reserva 2021 is an outstanding red wine, full of personality and with the unmistakable hallmarks (Tempranillo and American oak) of one of the most important Spanish winemaking families.
General information
Bodegas El Vínculo only makes this Reserva in outstanding years when the quality of the grapes allows for a longer than usual ageing period. El Vínculo Reserva 2021 is a real gem of a wine that reflects the expert winemaking and all the potential of the largest vineyard in the world. It’s made entirely from Tempranillo grapes, the favourite variety of Familia Fernández Rivera (the creators of Tinto Pesquera), and has been barrel aged for 24 months. It’s currently excellent to drink.
El Vínculo is the La Mancha winery of Familia Fernández Rivera, a winemaking group that started out with the legendary Tinto Pesquera in Ribera del Duero. Founded in 1999, El Vínculo – meaning ‘the link’ – symbolises the union of the two Castiles and is a tribute to previous generations of the family.
The family found the best dry-farmed vineyards planted with their inspirational grape variety, Tempranillo, in the heart of La Mancha, in Campo de Criptana (province of Ciudad Real), where they’ve applied their successful winegrowing philosophy: harvesting at the optimal moment, precision winemaking and ageing in the best American oak barrels.
Vínculo Reserva 2021 (D.O. La Mancha) is perfect with lamb stew with potatoes.
