The best wines of La Mancha are produced at the Fernández Rivera family's winery in Ciudad Real. Some people call El Vínculo’s wines ‘the La Mancha version of Pesquera’. And no wonder, because this label has positioned itself among the elite thanks, among other things, to the exceptional raw material provided by old dry-farmed vines which, naturally, are the family’s favourite variety: Tempranillo. El Vínculo Reserva 2020 is an outstanding red wine with a powerful personality and with the unmistakable hallmarks of one of the most important Spanish winemaking families.

Bodegas El Vínculo only make this Reserva in outstanding years when the quality of the grapes allows for a longer than usual ageing period. El Vínculo Reserva 2020 is a real gem of a wine that reflects the expert winemaking and all the potential of the largest vineyard in the world. Made entirely from Tempranillo grapes, it’s perfect for drinking and has a long life ahead of it thanks to 24 months in American oak barrels.
El Vínculo is the Manchego winery of Familia Fernández Rivera, a winemaking group that started out with the legendary Tinto Pesquera in Ribera del Duero. Founded in 1999, El Vínculo – meaning ‘the link’ – symbolises the union of the two Castiles and is a tribute to previous generations of the family.
The family found the best dry-farmed vineyards planted with their inspirational grape variety, Tempranillo, in the heart of La Mancha, in Campo de Criptana (province of Ciudad Real), where they’ve applied their successful winegrowing philosophy: harvesting at the optimal moment, precision winemaking and ageing in the best American oak barrels.
El Vínculo Reserva 2020 (D.O. La Mancha) is perfect to accompany hearty dishes such as migas manchegas (pan-fried breadcrumbs) or scrambled eggs with chorizo and bacon.
Familia Fernández Rivera is one of the most renowned national winemaking groups. After placing their Tinto Pesquera at the pinnacle of the global wine atlas, they decided to embark on new projects across different Spanish regions with a common protagonist: the tempranillo variety, which they master so well. The latest of these projects is located in Campo de Criptana (Ciudad Real) and was born at the end of the last century under the name of El Vínculo.
In 1999, the family found perfectly acclimated tempranillo vineyards in these lands of Don Quixote and committed to producing great Manchego red wines with them. El Vínculo is the only winery in the group that does not focus exclusively on tempranillo. Its vineyards also include the white airén grape, native to the region, with which they craft one of the best national white wines: Alejairén.
