Viña Real Rosado 2024 once again surprises all lovers of Rioja rosés with a new vintage of this sensational wine, known for its delicate and vibrant expression, which has already won over experts with a rating of 91 points from The Wine Advocate, the magazine of the guru Robert Parker. It has been crafted by Viña Real, a winery that combines tradition and modernity in every sip, and features a Burgundy-style aesthetic that sets it apart among Spanish rosés.
The new vintage maintains the perfect balance between red and white varieties: tempranillo (50%), garnacha (20%), and viura (30%), the latter adding a touch of freshness and elegance. The grapes, grown in selected plots in Elciego and Laguardia, are carefully vinified through gravity bleeding and slow fermentation, preserving the primary aromas and fruity expression.
Viña Real Rosado 2024 is not only a wine to enjoy but also to admire. Its production in a winery designed by the architect Philippe Mazières, nestled in Cerro de la Mesa, reflects the CVNE group's commitment to excellence. This rosé is an invitation to rediscover Rioja from a subtler, fresher, more Burgundy-inspired perspective. At the table, it pairs perfectly with dishes like creamy rice with lobster and chicken in pepitoria sauce.
Pale pink color, with notes of red fruit, subtle floral hints, and refreshing acidity.
Behind Viña Real stands one of the most solid names in the Rioja wine scene with significant international projection: CVNE (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España). The renowned French architect on the global stage, Philippe Mazières, was the person chosen by its leaders to capture the aesthetics of this century-old winemaking house in the new Viña Real winery, established in Laguardia (Rioja Alavesa). Its philosophy was to seek a unique style that respected the winery's hallmarks, with a subtler character, evoking a more “Burgundian” profile in this new initiative.
CVNE (Haro, Rioja Alta) first launched the Viña Real brand on the market in 1920; however, at the end of the 20th century, it conceived the idea of creating a dedicated winery for this range and chose the subzone of Rioja Alavesa for this new project. Thus, the history of the Viña Real winery is relatively short: its facilities were inaugurated in 2004.
Viña Real combines tradition and modernity in its spectacular facilities made of concrete, wood, and stainless steel. This new building stands out visually for the enormous vat that dominates its structure, a space dedicated to winemaking. Next to it, two tunnels have been carved into the rock of Cerro de la Mesa (Rioja Alavesa), where the winery is located, designed for the aging of wines: one for barrels and another for bottles.
