General Information

Viña Lanciano Reserva 2019 is a red wine with lots of personality, made from grapes from a selection of plots located on the Viña Lanciano estate. It also comes with the added guarantee of a vintage rated as Excellent by the Rioja regulatory board.

Viña Lanciano (El Cortijo - Rioja Alta) is a 72-hectare estate that lies at a bend in the Ebro River and is located on the natural border between Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. This exceptional enclave's stony, poor soils are conducive to slow, balanced ripening of the grapes and very limited yields. Some of the wines produced from this vineyard, such as Lan a Mano, have been chosen among the best wines in the world by prestigious publications such as Wine Spectator.

This red Reserva is made from Tempranillo (89%), with a small amount of Graciano (9%) and Mazuelo (2%). Each variety is fermented separately in small truncated cone-shaped stainless steel tanks, with long macerations and continuous pumping over. Malolactic fermentation and ageing for 16 months in French oak barrels and 8 months in concrete tanks. The resulting wine was then refined in the bottle for a further 22 months before being released onto the market.

Bodegas LAN, founded in the 1970s, is a classic among the great Rioja wineries. A pioneer in modernisation and technology, it boasts impressive facilities and one of the best-positioned ranges of wines on the market, with a strong presence.

Viña Lanciano Reserva 2019 (D.O.Ca. Rioja) is ideal with ratatouille-style vegetables and barbecued ribs.
