Their red wine Vetus 2023, recognized in its various editions by critics, is an estate wine—from the vineyard surrounding the winery in Villabuena del Puente—that faithfully expresses its terroir of origin and the purest essence of the signature grape of the Denomination of Origin Toro, tinta de Toro.
Vetus 2023 is a single-estate red wine crafted from Tinta de Toro grapes selected from low-yield plots located around the winery in Villabuena del Puente (Zamora). This splendid single-varietal wine underwent 14 months of aging in new French oak barrels.

Toro by Grupo Artevino, practices organic viticulture based on traditional methods and produces wines with a unique style defined by meticulous attention to every step of the production process, from vineyard work to winemaking at the winery. Vetus 2022 is an intense cherry red wine with garnet hues. On the nose, it recalls black fruit and licorice. Pleasant on the palate with notes of black fruit and toffee. Very pleasant aftertaste with a finish of compote and licorice.
Bodegas Vetus (2003) is the project of the Antón family (Grupo Artevino) in the D.O. Toro. For its development, they acquired an estate in the heart of the denomination. This estate currently houses modern winery facilities inaugurated in 2008 and 20 hectares of vineyards divided into 3 plots with vines of different ages and planting patterns.
Vetus applies precision and environmentally respectful viticulture, with meticulous care of the vines. The tinta de Toro grape is the star of the vineyard, cultivated in trellis and limited to low yields of around 4,000 kg per hectare in favor of quality. The vines are located on slopes with sandy-loam soils and benefit from a climate with significant temperature fluctuations between night and day during the ripening period, which helps produce wines with greater intensity of color and aromas.
The wines of Vetus aim for greater friendliness and balance than traditional reds from Toro. Additionally, the winery produces a white wine under the umbrella of the D.O. Rueda.
