LAN is one of the most iconic Rioja wineries and one of the firms that have contributed to the rise and recognition of this Denominación. It’s a privilege to be able to offer you Lan La Vendimia Reserva 2019 – a red from an Excellent vintage that expresses the terroir and varietal characteristics, grown on a selection of 30-year-old vines with very low yields (1.5 kg/vine), located in Rioja Alta.
General information
La Vendimia de Lan Reserva 2019 (Excellent vintage) is made from a selection of – chiefly – Tempranillo with a small percentage of Graciano. The grapes were grown in a vineyard more than 30 years old with low yields – 1.5 kg/vine – located in El Cortijo (Rioja Alta), where optimal exposure to the sun guarantees the proper ripening of the berries.
They were picked by hand and processed using traditional methods. Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks followed by 15-day maceration, with continual racking. The red wine was then masterfully aged for 20 months in barrels made of French oak from the forests of Bertranges and Tronçais, and matured to perfection in the bottle for a further 24 months.
Bodegas LAN, founded in the 1970s, is a classic among the great Rioja wineries. A pioneer in modernisation and technology, it boasts impressive facilities and one of the most commercially successful ranges of wines with a strong market presence. Its best asset is the legendary Viña Lanciano, a 72-hectare estate surrounded by a meander in the river Ebro, at the natural border between Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa.
La Vendimia de Lan Reserva 2019 (D.O.Ca. Rioja) is ideal with chickpea or kidney bean stews, or char-grilled lamb chops.

Deep cherry-red in colour. Intense aromas of fruit like cherries in liquor with enveloping spicy, smoky and balsamic notes. Full on the palate with smooth tannins. Long, lingering, elegant and delicate finish.
