We’ve introduced club members to several vintages of this wine and it’s become increasingly popular with you. So we decided to do what we like the most: select an exclusive Vallejo with the collaboration of the firm’s winemakers. What’s more, we were able to choose from the batches from their vineyard in Peñaranda, one of our favourite parts of Ribera del Duero. And here’s the result: Vallejo 2021, a unique Ribera del Duero that we’re very proud of.

Choosing from among the best vineyards, a new wine exclusive to Vinoselección came about: Vallejo 2021. This single-varietal is made from Tinta del País (Tempranillo) grapes and has been aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. The winery enabled us to select from the batches from their vineyard in Peñaranda to be able to offer you this red exclusively.
Part of the CVNE group, Bodega Bela (2018) is one of the most promising firms in Ribera del Duero and boasts extremely important recognitions such as that achieved by Bela Crianza 2021, the only Ribera del Duero to be included on Wine Spectator’s top 100 list in 2024.
Bodega Bela started out with superb assets: 82 hectares of vines, mostly belonging to the Tinta del País variety (Tempranillo) distributed between the municipalities of Villalba de Duero and Moradillo de Roa (Burgos) in one of the most desirable areas of the Denominación. The process of acquiring these coveted vineyards was completed after more than a decade.
Bela was the endearing name given to Sofía, the daughter of the cofounder of CVNE, Eusebio Real de Asúa, and the great-grandmother of the generation currently at the helm of the group. It’s a cutting-edge winery that spans 6000 square metres and boasts a large cellar with a capacity for 10,000 vats.
The red Vallejo 2021 (D.O. Ribera del Duero) is ideal with dishes such as stewed lentils with Ibérico pork.
In 2017, the Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE) fulfilled the desire to honor the founders of the winery from 1879 by launching the Bodega Bela project in one of the most sought-after areas of the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin. This winemaking house, far from its native Rioja, began with an exceptional viticultural heritage of 82 hectares of vineyards, mostly of the tinta del país or tempranillo variety, spread across the Villalba de Duero and Moradillo de Roa regions. Two very distinct areas that contribute complementary attributes to the wines: more structure in Moradillo de Roa and more freshness in Villalba de Duero. A venture that was forged after more than a decade of acquiring these coveted vineyards.
Bela was the affectionate nickname given to Sofía, the daughter of CVNE co-founder Eusebio Real de Asúa, and the great-grandmother of the current leaders of the company. It is a cutting-edge winery with a surface area of 6,000 m² and a large barrel room with a capacity for 10,000 casks.
In 2024, it became one of the highlights of the Spanish wine world when the prestigious publication Wine Spectator selected Bela Crianza 2021 as the only Ribera del Duero wine in its Top 100.
In recent years, Bodega Bela has embarked on its adventure in the neighboring D.O. Rueda, where it is producing verdejo whites that are sure to make waves.
