Dehesa La Granja is the Zamora-based firm owned by the Fernández Riveras, where they produce wines that share the same personality as they’re all grown on the same estate on Tempranillo vines brought from Condado de Haza, another of the family’s firms. Dehesa La Granja 2020 is a single-varietal Tempranillo made exclusively for Vinoselección. It comes from organically certified vines and has been aged for 14 months in American oak barrels in centuries-old cellars dug out of stone.
Familia Fernández Rivera have been demonstrating the virtues of the Tempranillo variety for years. After achieving stardom with Tinto Pesquera (D.O. Ribera del Duero) in their home region, they branched out by founding Condado de Haza, also in Ribera del Duero. Not long afterwards they established El Vínculo in La Mancha and Dehesa La Granja in Zamora.
Dehesa La Granja is located in Vadillo de Guareña (Zamora), an area that was of no interest to winemakers until the arrival of Familia Fernández Rivera. Realising its fantastic potential, the family purchased this huge property and planted Tempranillo vines brought from Condado de Haza. They produced their first wine in 1998. The estate boasts an eighteenth-century underground cave spanning 3,000 square metres where the firm’s wines are matured in optimum conditions.
Dehesa La Granja 2020 (V.T. Castilla y León) is ideal with stewed lentils with pork or Provencal-style lamb.
Familia Fernández Rivera has been showcasing the virtues of the tempranillo grape for years. After achieving stardom with Tinto Pesquera (D.O. Shortly after, they established the Manchegan winery El Vínculo and the Zamoran winery Dehesa La Granja.
Dehesa La Granja is located in Vadillo de Guareña (Zamora), an area with no winemaking value until the arrival of Familia Fernández Rivera. Foreseeing its great potential, the family acquired this vast estate and planted tempranillo vines sourced from Condado de Haza. They produced their first harvest in 1998. The estate features an 18th-century underground cave of 3,000 m², where their wines age under optimal conditions. In addition to winemaking, the family dedicates this estate to agricultural and livestock production.
