General Information

Dehesa La Granja is the Fernández Riveras' winery in Zamora, the birthplace of great wines that complement the family's other winning brands: Tinto Pesquera, Condado de Haza and El Vínculo. More than two decades old, the vineyards of the Dehesa La Granja estate are now at their peak, yielding Tempranillo grapes that are ideal for creating great wines, such as this Dehesa La Granja 2017 we’re offering you for the first time. A monument to the Tempranillo grape variety, aged for 15 months in eighteenth-century cellars.

A red wine with a unique personality and distinguishing features. It was produced following the magic recipe that has earned the Fernández Rivera family's wines their worldwide fame: Tempranillo grapes and ageing in American oak. Dehesa La Granja 2017 is a modern-style wine in which the flavours of this exceptional grape variety are powerfully present and blend with the notes from special barrel ageing that lend it complexity without sacrificing its identity.

The winery

Bodegas Dehesa La Granja

Familia Fernández Rivera has been showcasing the virtues of the tempranillo grape for years. After achieving stardom with Tinto Pesquera (D.O. Ribera del Duero) in their homeland, this family expanded their empire by founding Condado de Haza, also in Ribera del Duero. Shortly after, they established the Manchegan winery El Vínculo and the Zamoran winery Dehesa La Granja.

Dehesa La Granja is located in Vadillo de Guareña (Zamora), an area with no winemaking value until the arrival of Familia Fernández Rivera. Foreseeing its great potential, the family acquired this vast estate and planted tempranillo vines sourced from Condado de Haza. They produced their first harvest in 1998. The estate features an 18th-century underground cave of 3,000 m², where their wines age under optimal conditions. In addition to winemaking, the family dedicates this estate to agricultural and livestock production.
