General Information

The limited production of El Tossal de la Salut 2018 highlights the artisanal methods of the Abadia de Poblet winery. These methods were already used centuries ago by the monks of the Cistercian Order from Burgundy. Today, the winery presents the first single-varietal Garnacha Tinta with D.O. Conca de Barberà, faithfully expressing the uniqueness and value of its origins.

Unique for being located in a historical monument declared a World Heritage Site, Abadia de Poblet upholds the philosophy of Monastery wines that recover local varieties and convey the character of the grapes and the terroir where they are grown. The vinification of Intramurs respects and showcases the characteristics of the grape along with the soil where it originates.

The grapes of El Tossal de la Salut 2018 were crushed and fermented in cement tanks with 100% of the stems. Using natural or indigenous yeasts, the wine remained in contact with the skins for 23 days, combining pissage and pump-overs according to daily tastings.

Tasting notes

Aroma of herbs and wildflowers.

Elegant on the palate while also fresh. Well-balanced with a long, dry, and flavorful finish.

The winery

Within a historic monument, in Abadía de Poblet, the winemaking tradition of the monks of the Cistercian Order persists, a unique area that has preserved the cultivation of native varietals. The philosophy of the new monastery wines revives local varietals (trepat, garrut, and garnatxa primarily), enhancing the grapes used in their production and the terroir where they have been cultivated.
