Here’s introducing the latest edition of Vinoselección’s personalised label we launched two years ago which has so far graced Rioja and Ribera del Duero wines from the most famous wineries. This time we worked closely with one of the most prestigious Ribera del Duero wineries: Viña Mayor. The result of this collaboration is Todo o Nada Viña Mayor Crianza 2020, a superb interpretation of the Tempranillo variety in Ribera del Duero, from an Excellent-rated year and designed by brilliant winemaker Almudena Alberca MW.

It’s taken Vinoselección a long time to achieve this wine. Because Viña Mayor is one of the best-known Spanish wine brands and its Crianza is one of the finest in its segment in Ribera del Duero, year after year. Now we’re offering customers an exclusive version: Todo o Nada Viña Mayor Crianza 2020. It’s the result of collaboration between our technical team and the firm’s brilliant winemaker: Almudena Alberca, the first Spanish woman – and the only one to date – to qualify for the title of Master of Wine.
Following our guidelines, Almudena designed three different batches and our technical team chose the one we’re now offering you. It’s a wine that’s got everything we were looking for: balance, structure and complexity. So you can now enjoy this highly characteristic Ribera del Duero red with lots of red fruit, dairy and patisserie notes that boasts an excellent handling of barrel ageing. Created wholly from Tempranillo grapes, it was matured for 12 months in high-quality French and American oak barrels and spent at least another 12 months in the bottle before coming onto the market.
Bodegas y Viñedos Viña Mayor was established in 1986, when the D.O. Ribera del Duero had not long started out. Based in Quintanilla de Onésimo, in what is known as the ‘golden mile’ – the Denominación’s most prestigious area – it’s equipped with the latest technology and underground cellars. The success of its brands underpins the worldwide fame of a winery that’s admired for the excellent value of its wines. Respect for the environment is another of its distinguishing features (it holds the Wineries for Climate Protection certificate).
Todo o Nada Viña Mayor Crianza 2020 (D.O. Ribera del Duero) is great with char-grilled meats, roast lamb and fillet steak and also goes well with Ibérico deli meats and mature cheeses.

The upward trajectory of Bodegas y Viñedos Viña Mayor, founded in Quintanilla de Onésimo in 1986, has run parallel to the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin, established four years earlier. The success of its two brands, Viña Mayor and Secreto, has only enhanced the reputation of a winery known worldwide and admired for the excellent value for money of its wines.
On the other hand, Viña Mayor is a company highly committed to caring for the planet: it works with plans for energy and water efficiency, resource consumption, and waste generation, which has led it to achieve the Wineries for Climate Protection certification, the only certification in Spain that endorses wineries working sustainably.
In February 2024, the Portuguese company Sogrape acquired the winery from the Entrecanales Domecq e Hijos group.
