In Rioja, the finest renewed classicism is expressed in wines such as Tobía Cuvée Crianza 2023, crafted by Óscar Tobía, fourth generation of winemakers and recognised as one of the most outstanding enologists of his generation. A red that captures the innovative and creative spirit of its creator.

The growing international recognition of Óscar Tobía has established him as one of the finest enologists of his generation. Founder of Bodegas Tobía and a member of a long line of viticulturists, he signs his name on Tobía Cuvée Crianza 2023, made from a blend of Tempranillo (80%) and Garnacha (20%).

Fermentation with indigenous yeasts from the vineyard itself in smart tanks. Subsequently, Tobía Cuvée Crianza 2023 has been aged for 12 months in American oak barrels. The final blending and clarification with fresh egg whites before bottling.

In 1994, the Rioja-born Óscar Tobía decided to take charge of the harvesters’ winery owned by his family in San Asensio with the aim of producing craft wines. In partnership with economist Ana Castelló, Óscar has achieved well-deserved and increasing international recognition, ultimately cementing his reputation as one of the top enologists of his generation.

Winemaker

In 1994, the Riojan Óscar Tobía decided to take charge of the family-owned winemaking bodega in San Asensio with the goal of producing signature wines. Together with economist Ana Castelló, Óscar has achieved well-deserved and progressive international recognition, establishing himself as one of the best winemakers of his generation.

Bodegas Tobía manages 150 hectares of vineyards across 15 municipalities within the D.O. Ca. Rioja. Both Óscar and his team work hand in hand with farmers to achieve grapes of the highest quality, aiming to produce the finest wines in the region. All the vineyards have been selected for their low yields, unique topography, microclimate, and special soil characteristics.
