Tino 2022 is a white wine without equal in the Denomination of Origin Ribeiro: the only single-varietal albilla registered in the region, produced by the colleteiro winery Adega Manuel Formigo from fruits sourced from its Miñoteira and Portela estates. This white variety, almost lost in the area, was recovered by Manuel Formigo's father, from whom this interesting Galician white takes its name, captivating with its elegant acidity and concentration.
Adega Manuel Formigo is a colleiteiro winery established in 2006 in the town of Beade, in the province of Ourense. The small family business of the Formigo de la Fuente family produces, as stipulated by the D.O. Ribeiro regulations, less than 60,000 liters per year of wines made exclusively with grapes from their own harvest.
The vineyard of Adega Manuel Formigo is mainly divided into three plots (Miñoteira, Portela, and Pousos) along the banks of the Avia River. There, on predominantly rocky, loose, and well-oxygenated soils, the winery practices what they call “granite viticulture”, where native varieties such as godello, torrontés, loureira, albariño, treixadura, caiño, tintilla, ferrol, sousón, or brancellao, sourced from the oldest clones in the area, take center stage.
The winery's facilities are located on the ground floor of the old family home of the Formigo de la Fuente family. Using traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation, they produce high-quality wines under the D.O. Ribeiro, faithfully expressing the typicity and terroir from which they originate.
