General Information

Señorío del Bierzo Mencía Centenaria 2023 is a wine born from an exceptional vineyard: vines between 90 and 100 years old, cultivated on slate and clay soils on the slopes of Bierzo. These old vines, with low yields but of the highest quality, offer a mencía grape that is concentrated, expressive, and deeply connected to its origin.

Produced by the historic cooperative Vinos del Bierzo, this red wine has been aged for 4 months in French oak barrels, which adds complexity without compromising its freshness. With more than half a century of history, this winery is one of the few that preserves old vineyards, the most valuable in the country. The deep roots of these vines extract the best from the subsoil, resulting in wines that are pure essence and territory.

Señorío del Bierzo Mencía Centenaria 2023 is ideal for daily enjoyment or for discovering the unique character of mencía in its most authentic version.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it is fragrant, with notes of red fruit, wildflowers, and a mineral background.

On the palate, it is gentle, with ripe tannins, good acidity, and a long, balanced finish.
