General Information

The Mediterranean warmth brought by the garnacha and cariñena grapes with which it is made makes Sangre de Toro 2024 a red wine from the D.O. Catalunya with an inimitable personality, and also vegan.

To name the first wine bottled by Bodegas Torres, Miguel Torres Carbó was inspired by the figure of the Greek god of wine Dionysus, represented by the figure of a bull, and the millenary tradition of vine cultivation in Mediterranean countries. Today, all the qualities of that first vintage of Sangre de Toro are present in this harvest brought to you by the Club. The meticulous selection of the best bunches of garnacha tinta and cariñena and a careful production process, completed with 6 months of aging in American and French oak barrels, gave rise to an elegant, versatile, and authentic red wine, a faithful expression of its terroir of origin. Enjoy it accompanied by semi-cured cheeses, stews, game dishes, and meat-based rice dishes.

Tasting notes

Dark cherry color.

Delicious aroma of red fruits (strawberries) with a spicy note (black pepper).

On the palate, it is warm, firm, with a fine acidity.

The winery

Torres Essentials is the wine division of Familia Torres mainly focused on the retail channel. Winemakers in the Penedès since 1870, this division brings together the brands that Don Miguel Torres Carbó, a member of the third generation, turned into winery icons in the mid-20th century, adapted to modern times, together with new proposals designed to be enjoyed by consumers around the world. All of them represent Spanish and Mediterranean wine culture, combining the family’s winemaking heritage and environmental commitment with innovation to meet consumer needs and respond to new global wine consumption trends.
