General Information

Roger Goulart Demi Sec Reserva 2021 is an essential reference for semi-dry cava lovers. Fewer and fewer specialized houses produce this type of sparkling wine, characterized by containing between 32 and 50 grams of sugar per liter. Roger Goulart keeps this label within its most classic range and observes the same strict process in its vinification as for the rest of its most emblematic creations.

For the design of Roger Goulart Demi Sec Reserva 2021, the winery Roger Goulart chose the trio of white varieties par excellence of Catalan cava, namely, xarel.lo, macabeo, and parellada. Each of them was made separately and after the coupage and subsequent tirage, the wine underwent the second fermentation in the bottle and completed, in rhyme, an aging process lasting 18 months. The result is a sparkling wine under the D.O. Cava that appears young, fresh, aromatic, and of great finesse and finish. Ideal for accompanying all kinds of pastries and desserts.

Tasting notes

Displays a very pale and bright yellow tone to the eye, with abundant fine bubbles.

Very fruity nose with prominent notes of white and citrus fruits, along with pastry and slightly aniseed hints.

On the palate, it is silky and very smooth, with a pronounced sweet touch that makes it an extremely pleasant and easy-to-drink cava.

Winemaker

The cultivation of vines at the Masía de Can Goulart dates back to the 18th century, specifically to 1882, when the Canals family acquired the cellars, making it one of the first sparkling wine producers in Spain. The Canals family still owns the cellars today. Its impressive 1920 building, designed by architect Ignasi Mas Morell, is a prime example of Catalan agrarian modernism and one of its main attractions. Roger Goulart does not own vineyards nor produce the base wine, although he closely follows the entire process. To craft this Brut Nature, he uses the classic trio of regional varieties (Parellada, Xarel.lo, Macabeo), which each contribute distinct qualities: structure, silkiness on the palate, and aromatic finesse.
