Born in a winery that, after 140 years of history, is a true institution in the national wine sector, Roger Goulart Coral Brut Millésimé 2022 is defined by its fine bubbles, creaminess, and persistence. Qualities that make it a perfect wine to enjoy on its own or to pair with a multitude of culinary specialties.
The history of Roger Goulart is linked to the history of the Golart and Canals families, rooted in Sant Esteve Sesrovires (Barcelona). Initially connected to rural life, they made wine for their own consumption. It was Miquel Canals i Farré who inaugurated the winery in 1882, after excavating a deep cellar in the garden of the family home. In 1919, the architect Ignasi Mas i Morell, a disciple of Gaudí, built spectacular modernist-style facilities where the entire production process continues to develop today.
Tasting notes
Pale yellow cava with greenish reflections, clean, bright, with a good release of fine bubbles and a light crown formation on the surface. On the nose, it is very fresh, with intense notes of fresh fruit (apple, pear, citrus, pineapple) and a background of light yeast and bread notes. On the palate, it is slightly sweet but very balanced with the lively acidity that makes it very round and silky. Persistent finish with very fruity mouth notes and light toasty hints.

The cultivation of vines at the Masía de Can Goulart dates back to the 18th century, specifically to 1882, when the Canals family acquired the cellars, making it one of the first sparkling wine producers in Spain. The Canals family still owns the cellars today. Its impressive 1920 building, designed by architect Ignasi Mas Morell, is a prime example of Catalan agrarian modernism and one of its main attractions. Roger Goulart does not own vineyards nor produce the base wine, although he closely follows the entire process. To craft this Brut Nature, he uses the classic trio of regional varieties (Parellada, Xarel.lo, Macabeo), which each contribute distinct qualities: structure, silkiness on the palate, and aromatic finesse.
