Rejón 2021 originates from a 130-year-old vineyard guarded by Bodegas Tridente in El Pego, in the Toro region. The best tempranillo vineyard of the Zamora winery, part of the Viñas Familia Gil group, with an extremely low yield, produces grapes that express with maximum purity the essence of their terroir. The result is an elegant and fleshy wine, well-structured, powerful, and unctuous. A luscious tempranillo that captivates with its fullness of nuances and long finish.

The red wine Rejón displays a deep garnet cherry color and is very intense and complex on the nose, with very ripe black fruits (blackberries, plums) and mineral tones. It offers a luscious, powerful, and robust palate, with structure and a meaty texture, yet balanced, with sweet, round, and ample tannins. Very elegant and flavorful, indulgent, with a long finish. Rejón is a wine that conveys, through the old vineyard it comes from, the elegance, serenity, and complexity of a great wine.
In 2008, the Gil family (leading the powerful Juan Gil Bodegas Familiares group) brought their expertise to Villanueva de Campeán, 30 km south of Zamora, in the heart of the region known as Tierra del Vino. Here, they founded Bodegas Tridente together with Enrique Busto. A small winery where red wines are crafted using the traditional varieties tinta de Toro (mainly), prieto picudo, and mencía. The vineyards are located in Villanueva and El Pego, with old, low-yield vines from the Bierzo and León regions. Currently, Bodegas Tridente markets the brands Entresuelos, Tridente Mencía, Tridente Tempranillo, Tridente Prieto Picudo, and Rejón.
