General Information

Family tradition and variety. Peique Ramón Valle 2021 evokes the origins of a winery, settled in Valtuille de Abajo, which is a benchmark in Bierzo. The grandfather of the saga, Ramón Peique, planted, in the mid-20th century, at an altitude between 450 and 580 meters, the magnificent mencía vineyard with which this lively and sophisticated red wine was made. The use of three types of oak barrels (French, Russian, and American) for the 7 months of aging added great complexity and elegance.

Bodegas Peique is one of the leading firms in the great movement that has renewed the D.O. Bierzo in recent years. The current three generations of the Peique family run this house with the aim of valuing their viticultural heritage and producing quality wines that are a true reflection of it, like this Peique Ramón Valle 2021 that the Club brings to you.

Tasting notes

Peique Ramón Valle displays a deep cherry red color.

On the nose, it is frank and intense, with prominent aromas of red and black fruit, balsamic notes, and a mineral background. Complex.

Fruity on the palate, balanced, fresh, fluid, with a friendly and silky passage. Intense and balsamic finish.

The winery

Bodegas Peique
The Peique surname has been linked to wine since the 1930s, but it was not until 1999 that the three current generations of the family decided to establish their own winery in the town of Valtuille de Abajo, their hometown, in whose surroundings it is said that the ancient Bergidum Flavium, the pre-Roman city that gives its name to Bierzo, was located. Bodegas Peique began its journey in facilities borrowed from friends, and almost 20 years later, it has its own premises and a vineyard of 40 hectares, including both owned and controlled plots from neighboring winegrowers. Currently, it produces around 215,000 bottles annually.
