Palacio de Bornos Verdejo 2024 is a wine from the D.O. Rueda, made entirely from  Verdejo grapes grown on the winery's own vineyards, which span more than 300 hectares in the municipalities of Rueda, Pollos and La Seca (Valladolid). Its very intense aromas reflect the full range of the Verdejo grape variety. Citrus and herby notes hints of aniseed. Intense, flavourful and fruity on the palate.

General Information

Palacio de Bornos Verdejo 2024 is made from grapes from the winery's own 308 hectares of vineyards in the towns of Rueda, Pollos and La Seca (Valladolid). The vines are 15 years old on average and grow in stony, sandy loam soils at an average altitude of 750 metres. The grapes were harvested at night to maintain their freshness and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 14-16º C.

Palacio de Bornos, part of the Bornos Viñedos y Bodegas group, has been committed to the D.O. Rueda and its flagship variety, Verdejo, for four decades. Its wines, from the best vineyards in the region, are exported to five continents and are highly praised by wine critics.

Palacio de Bornos Verdejo 2024 (D.O. Rueda) goes perfectly with eggplant lasagna or Milanese risotto.

Creators' opinion

The winery

The D.O. Rueda (Valladolid) is a leading region for Spanish white wines. Its whites are very well received in European and U.S. markets, especially due to their excellent value for money. Here, Verdejo is the star grape, a native variety whose revaluation owes much to the expertise of Antonio Sanz, owner and winemaker of Bodegas Palacio de Bornos. In 1976, Antonio Sanz parted ways with a legacy tied to five generations of winemakers and founded the current Palacio de Bornos winery. Even then, he foresaw the enormous potential of the Rueda region and the characteristics that would later bring universal fame to the Verdejo variety. Today, the winery produces white wines made from this native grape and the French Sauvignon Blanc.
