Paco & Lola Vintage 2018 is a unique 100% albariño white wine, of which there are few bottles, elegant and with a complex nose, produced by Adega e Viñedos Paco & Lola. With just over a decade of experience, this young and modern winery has already made a significant name for itself in the wine scene thanks to its masterful command of albariño, the queen grape of Rías Baixas, and a modern and avant-garde style.
Made from the free-run juice of selected albariño grapes from their best old vineyards growing in the heart of the Valle del Salnés, after fermentation at controlled temperature for 21 days, this Paco & Lola Vintage 2018 was aged for one year on its lees, which added extra complexity and creaminess. It was then kept in stainless steel tanks for four more years. The result is a flavorful white, with a magnificent structure and a powerful, well-integrated acidity that grants it liveliness. A demonstration of the magnificent potential for evolution of albariño in the bottle.
Paco & Lola Vintage displays a straw yellow color with intense greenish reflections and slight golden hues.
On the nose, it shows a medium intensity, highlighting aromas of aromatic herbs (laurel, rosemary), spices (cumin), and infusions like tea and chamomile. Hints of candied fruit and an elegant background thanks to the lees.
Fresh, with good acidity and a sweet touch on the palate. Oily and creamy texture with the presence of ripe fruit and toasted notes. Mineral and saline aftertaste.
Adega e Viñedos Paco & Lola is a winery founded in 2005 by the Sociedad Cooperativa Vitivinícola Arousana. It is the most important cooperative in the D.O. Rías Baixas, consisting of more than 430 members who own 220 hectares of vineyards in the Salnés Valley, the birthplace of the finest albariños; an extraordinary viticultural heritage in a region like Galicia, characterized by smallholdings. The winery's facilities are equipped with the latest technology.
