Where others seek freshness, this rosé adds Rioja precision.
Muga Rosado 2025 shines at the freshest table, with a precise winemaking that cares for every detail and lees ageing that adds volume and finesse. From Rioja, Garnacha Tinta and Viura bring to life an elegant, delicate and vibrant rosé. Let yourself be seduced by its character.
Light and with a very lively sense of freshness, Muga Rosado 2025 expresses the finesse of Rioja with the delicacy of a well-crafted rosé. Made with Garnacha Tinta and Viura, it begins after a manual harvest, a brief pressing maceration and a careful fermentation to respect the fruit. Afterwards, it rests on its fine lees for weeks, gaining body and softness without losing tension.
The 2025 vintage was marked by challenging weather, with heavy rains and then a sharp rise in temperatures. For that reason, the vineyard was monitored with great precision. The grapes come from two very distinct areas: the Oja Valley, with calcareous-clay soils that provide balance and acidity, and the Najerilla Valley, where calcareous-clay soils add mineral character and complexity. The old age of the vines also helps give more expression to the whole.
Behind it is Muga, a winery in Haro with a history tied to tradition and meticulous care. The Muga family keeps alive a very personal approach to winemaking, with respect for the vineyard and a clear commitment to sustainability. Muga Rosado 2025 reflects exactly that: precision, harmony and personality, in Rioja.

Service

Muga Rosado 2025 was harvested manually to precisely select the Garnacha and the Viura at their optimal ripeness, a key decision to preserve the wine’s freshness and aromatic expression. The grapes arrived at the winery with the utmost care, maintaining the integrity of the raw material. A meticulous process.
Winemaking
begins with a light maceration in the press for approximately 5 hours, which gently extracts the expression of Garnacha Tinta and Viura without losing freshness or finesse, and the must then ferments at a controlled temperature, between 16 and 18 °C, for a period of 15 to 20 days, in a process designed to preserve the varietal character and sustain the wine's aromatic profile.
Aging
While many rosés hit the market with a very short production, Muga Rosado 2025 extends its profile with a period of 16 weeks in contact with its fine lees after the alcoholic fermentation has finished. This lees contact work aims to impart greater body, softness and persistence on the palate, reinforcing the sense of freshness and balance that defines the vintage. No specific time in bottle is indicated before its release onto the market.
Vineyard
Description
Muga Rosado 2025 comes from old vineyards located in two distinct areas of the Oja valley and the Najerilla valley, where the high age of the vines contributes to greater concentration and expression of Garnacha Tinta and Viura. The calcareous-clay soils of the Oja valley provide structure, balance and acidity, while the calcareous-iron soils of the Najerilla valley add minerality and complexity. The vintage was marked by a particularly complex climate, with significant rainfall during the vegetative cycle and a pronounced rise in temperatures in the final stretch of ripening, which required very precise vineyard monitoring to preserve balance and aromatic expression.
Age
Made from Garnacha Tinta and Viura vines from old vineyards.
Climate
The 2025 vintage demanded focus. Significant rainfall during the vegetative cycle. Afterwards, a sharp rise in temperatures at the end of ripening. In that context, the Muga vineyard, split between the Oja Valley and the Najerilla Valley, worked across cool zones and soils that helped to maintain balance. Freshness, acidity and aromatic expression remained at the heart of it all.
Viticulture
In Muga Rosado 2025, viticulture relies on very precise vineyard monitoring, especially in a vintage with complex climate conditions, to preserve the balance between acidity, alcohol content and aromatic expression. The vineyards, located in the Oja Valley and the Najerilla Valley, provide a base of great richness thanks to their calcareous-clay soils and calcareous-iron soils, while the advanced age of the vines strengthens the concentration and character of Garnacha Tinta and Viura; all of this is framed within an environmental sustainability philosophy recognised by a certification specific to bodegas.

Bodegas Muga is one of the most reliable and recognizable names in Rioja, founded in 1932 by the family that gives it its name: the Muga family, now led by the third generation. Its history began in a modest winery located on a central street in Haro, but in 1970, it inaugurated new facilities in the famous Barrio de la Estación in the same town. Muga is characterized by its commitment to traditional winemaking: gravity racking, egg white fining, and all red wines are made, fermented, and aged in oak (there is no stainless steel in the winery). It is also one of the few Spanish wineries with its own cooperage. However, in the vineyard, it embraces modern technology, monitoring the plants.
It is also distinguished by its mastery of aging, especially long aging, as its red wines exceed the aging times stipulated by the Regulatory Council of the D.O.Ca. Rioja. Its portfolio is divided into two lines: a more classic line with the Muga and Prado Enea range, and a more modern one with Torre Muga and the ‘top’ Aro. These are joined by the new Flor de Muga label, available in white and rosé versions. All of these wines have elegance in their DNA, with outstanding acceptance.
It boasts exceptional vineyards of tempranillo, garnacha, graciano, and mazuelo, located in the valleys of the Oja and Tirón rivers. In these lands, soil and climate come together to offer exceptional conditions for the vine, something the Muga family takes full advantage of to craft their renowned wines.
