Directed by the Sanz brothers, Menade is a winery located on the banks of the Duero River, in Rueda (Valladolid), which has been a pioneer in the area in obtaining Organic certification and using artisanal production methods: grape treading, use of native yeasts... Menade Sauvignon Dulce is made with the French-origin grape sauvignon blanc, a variety that has one of its main strongholds in Rueda.
The fermentation of the sauvignon blanc grapes is carried out with natural yeasts, but is stopped by lowering the temperature of the tank when the optimal balance between alcohol content and residual sugar is achieved. The result is a sweet yet fresh wine, thanks to its acidity.
Bodegas Menade is the project of the Sanz brothers, the fifth generation of a family of winemakers, who in 2005 embarked on the search for century-old vineyards in different regions of Castilla y León until they found the vines that met their high standards. Their main asset is very old vineyards distributed across three different areas of Castilla y León. Their wines are marketed in 25 countries and have garnered a good array of international awards.
Menade Sauvignon Dulce will pair perfectly with appetizers like foie gras and pâtés. For desserts, it will enhance pastries based on chocolate, such as brownie or Sacher cake.
In appearance, Menade Sauvignon Dulce presents a beautiful lemon yellow with golden reflections, very bright.
Fragrant and complex nose where its aromatic potential stands out: frosted white fruit along with floral notes (rose petals and orange blossom) and hints of licorice and fennel; all on a suggestive background of citrus peel.
On the palate, it is smooth, glyceric, with a voluptuous palate and a magnificent structure. Long and persistent finish with hints of jasmine honey.
