In 2011, Domaine Mas Janeil began its journey in the heart of the A.O.P. Côtes du Roussillon, at the foot of the Corbières massif, in the renowned Agly valley. There, François Lurton cultivates 34 hectares of vineyards grown on a wide variety of soils with different exposures, resulting in wines with character and a defined personality.
One of its representatives is the red wine Mas Janeil Le Petit Pas 2022. A wine made with the most traditional grapes of the French Mediterranean basin—garnacha, syrah, cariñena, and monastrell—that will surprise you with its fruity character and the fact that it is made without added sulfites.
After harvesting the different plots of the Domaine Mas Janeil, the syrah and cariñena are vinified together, while the garnacha and monastrell are processed separately. Prior to vinification, the different batches undergo a cold pre-maceration for five days before starting the traditional winemaking process in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. Once this phase is completed, the wine remains on its fine lees before the final blending of this red wine.

In the glass, it displays a beautiful intense ruby red color, with a slightly purplish rim and high depth.
The nose is intense, fragrant, and complex; combining subtle notes of fresh forest fruits (blackberry and raspberry) intertwined with spicy touches (black pepper and bay leaf) and, finally, a lactic background.
On the palate, it is fleshy, with fresh, lively, and smooth tannins; and with a magnificent fruity expression. Its persistent finish combines the spicy touches hinted at in the aromatic phase with pleasant reminiscences of bergamot.
